The further development of the NIBSORB® technology has resulted in NICABOR®. By increasing the hardness of the carrier matrix and varying the grain size of the co-depositing hard particles, it has been possible to produce the required improvement in wear, as well as maintaining excellent corrosion resistance.
NICABOR® as well as NIBSORB® is one of the most challenging developments of MTV. By the emplacement of systematic, high concentrated and homogenous resistant material particles - also nanoscale - in a ductile nickel matrix, a dispersion coating is generated, which delivers an optimum armouring with great corrosion resistance.
This hard material composite coating which can only be machined by diamond or diamond-like tools offer outstanding protection against abrasive wear.
It is possible with a thin NICABOR® coating to match all the tribological characteristics required for many engineering applications.
The NICABOR® technology offers a real technical and economic alternative to PVD, CDC or ceramic coating on a variety of components.
