buchsenSince 1985 Bronze coatings have provided a guaranteed level of durability, meeting the worldwide demands of the underground Mining industry.

Thick ductile. homogenous coatings, completely free from pores or cracks, provide extremely high corrosion protectionin the most agressive water-based and other operational environments.

These special characteristics of the Bronze coating prevent failures caused by electrochemically driven corrosion due to adverse metallic coupling in agressive environments.

The use of hardened Bronze/Hard Chromium topcoats provides the outstanding wear resistance demanded for these applications.

The combination  of conventional   Bronze/Hard Chromium enhance the well-known benefits of the Hard Chromium coating, as well as providing exceptional corrosion resistance for many engineering applications.

bronzeThe casted tin bronze is the eponym for the  famous era - the Bronze Age, 1750-800 v. Chr.

Since 1935 it is possible to separate bronze electrolytically, but the usage was highly limited due to little layers which could be produced.

After substantial work of development MTV is able to offer since 1986 tin bronze for  technological  applications up to multiple tenth lamination strength.

The admiral bronze with a tin share of 12%-14% (rest copper) and a rigidy of 250HV-300HV is  predominantly surface parallel limited and besides that untextured.

Bronze is one of the most corrosion resistant metals at all. Due to the self -protecting and adhesive oxidations coat, it is extremely resistant against atmospheric influences.

The resistance against sea water and against carbonated and saline mine waters has the result of a usage in meanwhile 150 000 bronzed hydraulic elements.

During corrosion tests the coat endured 70 round in the kesternich equipment (DIN 50018) and 1000 hours in the acetic acid salt spray test DIN 50021) without results.

The coat can be pulled about 180° over a mandrel without crack formation. The tensile strength can be declared with 855 N/mm² and the elongation at break with 1%.

Further notes of the admiral bronze are the excellent dry-running operation characteristics,  the durability, impact strength and thermal and electric conductivity.

hartbronzeThe hard bronze with a main configuration of 27%-31% tin (rest copper) does ot only differ in the optic (speculum) but also in its chemical-mechanical characteristics.

The durability of the coat is appr. 550-600HV. With higher percentage of tin the coat is subjected to crack formation.

In combination with the admiral bronze using an appr. 30 µm undercoating, hardened bronze distinguish itself through a high abrasion resistance in combination with excellent dry running  operation characteristics.

The described Bronze, hardened Bronze and white Bronze are a development of MTV Metallveredelung GmbH & Co. KG.
